Important Documents

The renter and the driver must be in possession of a valid driving license. Additionally, the following conditions will apply depending on the country issuing the driving license. The international driver must be in possession of a validly issued driving license in their country of origin and a valid passport. The driving license printed with an alphabet other than Roman (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.) must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit. You must always present your Identity Card or Passport, along with your driving license when renting. After 60 minutes from the agreed time, Gama Rent will have no commitment to deliver the vehicle.

Age Provisions

In Chile, the following rules regarding minimum age and possession of a driving license apply:

• Minimum Age: 21
• License Requirement: All classes of vehicles | category.

Rate Information

It is possible to rent vehicles with the following credit cards: all credit cards from recognized credit card entities - such as American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/MasterCard, and Visa. Prepaid cards or debit cards (VISA Electron) are not accepted. The person renting / picking up the vehicle must be the holder of the credit card indicated. Note that credit card payments will only be accepted, where applicable, with the PIN code. For security, a guarantee on the payment method will be requested. The exact guarantee amount will be determined upon vehicle delivery, as its amount depends on the vehicle category.

Home Delivery

We have a home delivery service for the rented vehicle, either to a hotel, office, or private address in the Metropolitan Region. To use this service, you must select the 'Santiago Entrega a Domicilio' (Santiago Home Delivery) branch. This service has an extra charge indicated at the time of booking on the website. Depending on the commune, additional surcharges may apply (For example: Colina, Buin, Peñaflor, Pirque, San José de Maipo, among others).

Prepaid Reservations

When booking a prepaid rate, the amount will be immediately charged to the credit card with the total price of the rental (including extras and charges). The driver's data and the payment method will be consigned in the reservation and cannot be changed. The cardholder must present this card at the Gama Rent a Car counter when picking up the vehicle, and the credit card must have an expiration date later than the reservation end date. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.

Money Refund Conditions

For prepaid reservations through www.gamarent.cl, a 100% refund will apply to the credit or debit card holder for those reservations canceled 76 hours in advance of the scheduled pickup date and time according to the reservation. The cancellation must be communicated to Gama Rent a Car by email or through the website. No refund applies for reservations canceled less than 76 hours in advance of the scheduled pickup date and time according to the reservation. No refunds will be made in case of prepaid No Show reservations, nor for reservations and/or contracts for prepaid rental days not used. In case of a refund, the amount will be charged back to the same credit card of the holder who made the payment, within approximately 15 business days counted from the cancellation. The final date of return to the bank account will depend on the credit card issuing bank. No refunds or returns are made for unused days of a reservation or when the user does not comply with the rental requirements, for example: minimum age, identity documents, valid license, credit card limit, or if the user decides to decline the rental directly at our offices.

No Show

In the case of prepaid reservations made through the website, a maximum period of 2 hours will be waited to carry out the rental. Otherwise, for non-prepaid reservations, 2 hours are waited after the time indicated in the reservation; otherwise, the service will be classified as No Show and the vehicle will become available for another rental.

Damage Coverage (CDW)

The rented vehicle has CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) coverage, which covers the vehicle in case of own damage, theft, fire, and damage due to force majeure. In case of an accident, the following charges apply for each event, which apply regardless of whether the renter or a third party is responsible for the accident: In case of collision, the renter must pay a deductible of UF 30 + VAT. In case of rollover, the renter must pay a deductible of UF 50 + VAT. In case of theft or total loss, the renter must pay a deductible of UF 50 + VAT

Third Party Damage (DAT)

In the event that the renter has caused damage to the rented vehicle and damage to both third-party property and third parties, Gama Rent a Car will respond according to the following coverages: Civil liability for consequential damages up to UF 1000. Civil liability for moral damages up to UF 1000. Civil liability for loss of profit up to UF 1000.

Types of Additional Coverage:

• Top Cover

The renter can reduce the collision deductible from UF 30 + VAT to UF 10 + VAT by contracting a daily coverage that allows this reduction. The cost of this coverage is $5,000 plus VAT per day. To make this coverage effective, the renter must file the respective claims and accident reports, as indicated in the rental agreement.

• Plus+ Coverage

Deductible $0 exclusively in cases of own damage and collision. Does not include coverage for glass and tires (GT).

• Medium Coverage

Eliminates the deductible in case of theft, rollover, and/or total loss of the vehicle. Does not include coverage for glass and tires (GT).

• Elite Coverage

Deductible $0 in all cases: accidents, rollover, theft, and total loss of the vehicle. Does not include coverage for glass and tires (GT).

• Accessory Theft Coverage (SACA)

Covers theft, loss, and/or destruction of the vehicle's own accessories, understanding accessory as anything that can be removed from the vehicle without impeding its normal circulation within current traffic regulations. For example, antenna, logos, wheel covers, etc.

• Tire and Front Windshield Protection (GT)

Tire and windshield protection provides protection against damage to tires, front windshield, side windows, and rear window. By contracting this insurance, the repair of damage caused to any of the aforementioned elements is not charged. If the renter does not contract this coverage, they must be responsible for damages caused to tires and windshields, as they are not covered by the CDW coverage.

Foreign Travel and Entry Limitations

Foreign travel is not permitted. In case of contravention of the conditions applicable to foreign travel, all insurances lose their validity.

Extras

Accessories are reserved without obligation and are obtained subject to availability.

One Way

One-way rentals within Chile are possible under rate-dependent conditions. International one-way rentals are not permitted. In the case of unregistered and unauthorized one-way rentals, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.

Navigation System

Navigation systems are available for a fee.

Additional Driver

A charge will be required for an additional driver, such that only persons with a valid, in-rule driving license can drive the vehicle.

Baby and Child Seats

Baby seats, child seats, and booster seats are available for a fee.

Winter Equipment

Snow chains and racks are available for a fee.

Vehicle Refueling

All cars are delivered with a full tank and must be refilled before returning them to Gama Rent a Car, otherwise current prices per liter of Gasoline or Diesel will be charged, in addition to a replenishment fee. If you wish, your vehicle, after being returned, can receive fuel supply at the station under available conditions. Alternatively, you can purchase a full tank of fuel at the local station price and return it empty. No money will be refunded for unused fuel.

Other Fees and Taxes

Airport charge. A location charge is billed at airports and train stations.

Outside Opening Hours

At selected stations, Gama Rent a Car offers the possibility of vehicle pick-ups or returns outside normal operating hours. This service is subject to prior confirmation with each branch and has an additional cost of $25,000 + VAT, corresponding to an availability fee for after-hours service. To coordinate this service, it is essential that the customer requests it in advance and receives express confirmation from the Gama Rent a Car team.

Loss of Key

In case of loss of the vehicle key, a fee is billed according to the vehicle category.

Traffic Ticket Processing Fee

The renter is obliged to pay for traffic tickets received during the rental. If the driver receives a traffic ticket during the rental, a processing fee is applied in addition to the traffic ticket. Circulation Permit Fee / Road Usage Fee. There will be a road usage fee, which is included in the rental.

Limitations for Road Use

Rental vehicles can only be driven on asphalt/paved roads or roads in good condition. Driving on unpaved roads (e.g., the Carretera Austral) is only allowed with all-terrain vehicles.

Vehicle Cleaning

Baby seats, child seats, and booster seats are available for a fee.
